It was a short trip but worth it to have a change of scenery. The artist's cottage we stayed in was charming and comfortable. All the art inside the house was a treat to view and enjoy.
The shops of Berea, Kentucky, are filled with artistic creations. The town's motto is Where Art's Alive. Berea is the folk arts and crafts capital of Kentucky.
Although I liked many of the handcrafted items, the best buys for me were in the two flea market buildings we visited. I found three small pottery pieces, a brass rabbit, a white planter with a bird, and a Christmas ornament.
After this getaway trip I feel inspired to do more art, achieve a little decorating, and test out a new recipe.
