Yipes! August Already!

Even with the terrible heat I want to appreciate this final month of summer. I have been enjoying the flowers that are still blooming. Such happy colors!

Inside where there's air conditioning I enjoy art time. I keep adding pages to my art journal and hope one day to have it full.

Today I plan to do some painting. I bought a couple of larger canvases to layer on the colors. This little barn came about last week as I was trying to get back in the mood to paint.

Also wish I could get back in the mood to do more blog posts. I want to share my thoughts but have a hard time expressing myself these days. Sometimes my thoughts are too dark. So many changes have occurred that I don't fully understand. Gone are the safe days of my childhood. Today's young people have a very different experience.

Thanks to those who still stop by and check out Bits and Pieces.

A New Year

Hope the new year will bring good changes.
Hope I can face each day with gratitude.
Hope I can find courage when needed.
Hope my faith will sustain me.

Sit A Spell

Sometimes I sit in my easy chair, put down the book I'm reading, and gaze at this side of the living room. I like this grouping of prints and will probably never change them. Sorry about the glare on the smallest print. If you came for a visit I would share this space with you.

During our visit I would talk about little Tallulah. Lauren shared this recent photo with me, and I wanted to share this sweet and happy face with you.

Recently I read a devotional that stressed four words. I found myself saying them over and over. I made an angel on an art journal page and added three of those words.

"God listens to our prayers and fulfills our needs and requests when we pray with trust, faith, hope, and confidence."

If you were sitting with me I hope we would discuss our hopes and dreams. I'd like for us to talk about any and everything...religious views, problems facing our nation, disappointments, joys, etc.

Well, our visit is coming to an end. Glad you came by.

Bird Art

The first pages in my new art journal were fun to do. The bird ideas came from other people on Pinterest.

A Sunny Day

Oh, my goodness, today was so warm and lovely. Taking a walk around the yard I discovered these blooms in one of the flowerbeds.

Mary, do you remember this planting?

I was happy to see this familiar guy.

#hangaheart
Thanks to Erin @cottonstem(her Instagram account) I learned about hanging hearts on windows and doors to honor medical workers for their dedication and service.

To pass time and to relax I have been adding to my art journal.

And then there's one new canvas.

When this coronavirus is gone, we will REJOICE.

Also there's the change I made to the mantel.

For years my mom saved eight Arthur Singer bird prints. She probably intended to frame them once upon a time. I'm glad to have them, and I like the way they look in these vintage trouser hangers. I believe she would like them, too.
