Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

You had to dodge streamers as you walked this part of the store.

It was a delightful display that made me smile.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Remember there are many kinds of love.

SMILE and SPREAD SOME LOVE.

Life

This year is moving along, and I try not to fret about lost hours and days. I did three new journal pages.

The title for the abstract
is "confused yet sure."

This art journal page looked better before I applied the brown wash. Oh well, I do like the quote below 2020.

I stamped the words onto this angel.

Besides dabbling in art I've been changing up accessories in the house.

This arched piece was in another bedroom during Christmas.
I have kept the snowy wreath on it, but will need something different for spring.

I moved this candle to the piano where I used a scarf of mine across the top.

Entry change for February

This picture was once a magazine advertisement. I laminated the page and used it for many years in my elementary classroom. I still love the sweetness of this Valentine's Day scene.

Valentine's Day Memories

When I was in grammar school Valentine's Day was such a big event. Usually a big decorated box in the front of the classroom held all the cards until time to pass them out.

When I first started teaching students would decorate individual boxes and place them on their desks to receive valentines. In later years we would make holders in class and attach them to lockers for decoration and for the big day.

This was a sweet student standing by my chalkboard message about valentines.
Oh, the many times I enjoyed Valentine's Day with my students!

Blessings

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

On Friday Nicolas was released from LeBonheur Children's Hospital. Antibiotics had cleared an infection that was located in a vertebra of his back.  Prayers had been answered.

This morning as Corkey and I were having coffee and reading the newspaper, we had a lovely surprise. Three boys wearing smiles came by before school - Gunner, Nicolas, and Lucas. They had tulips for me and candy for Corkey. They also gave us the best hugs.

Corkey liked the simple homemade valentine I had placed on his desk. It was two red hearts glued together with a message in the center. The words I had cut  from a recent cartoon strip.

your heart and my heart
are very, very old friends

We are thankful and happy to be together. In spite of aches and pains we have, we count our blessings that we also have each other.

Hope your day is filled with

Hearts and Flowers

This is a magazine page I saved. Silver pieces, flower frog with 14 card, old book, old valentine postcard, flowers...it all speaks of Valentine's Day and romance.

This is the front of a card I saved due to the sweet message.

The two pictures below are magazine illustrations that I had framed a long time ago.  In my opinion both convey feelings...longing for love and finding love. Wish I knew the names of the artists.

Happy Valentine's Day

Yesterday I was rather lazy throughout the day. Lucas was content with his tablet, and I had a book.

I did snap a few pictures for this post. The sad-looking heart wreath with fake ivy was a Goodwill find some time ago. That cheery red heart talked me into it. Discarding the chipped terra cotta pot it was part of, I kept the grapevine wreath with the bright red heart and propped it inside an old crock.

In order to pull off a surprise for this morning,  I stayed up late to bake old-fashioned sugar cookies. They turned out just right on the bottoms and tops.

Valentine's Day Decor

For Valentine's Day I made a quick and easy banner and gathered a few decorations for the bookcase. Years ago I collected pairs. Decided to bring them out for February.

Wish I had more bookcases throughout our house...maybe a whole wall of built-in shelves...guess this one bookcase will have to do.

Wishing you a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY,
Sandy
