Personal Space

I am very fortunate to have such a space.

The art space I use is not a whole room, but it offers privacy and quiet time.
I'm able to paint a canvas, add to my art journal, or just sit and think about a future project.

Cleaning Out and Reorganizing

Happy to say I've made some progress over in the art room.

The green boxes are recent additions.

Finally got around to labeling these bins.

Completed two more pages in my art journal.

Sometimes just messing around with stamps or paints is a happy creative experience.

Filling in the Blanks

Amazing how days turn into weeks, and then even more amazing is how an entire month has become history. This  journey called Life moves on at a fast pace with seasonal changes marking time. Several hours have been spent in the _________(garden).  The first blooms of spring always prove exciting.

Yesterday was a beautiful day for my drive to Jackson for a scheduled luncheon date with two friends from college. Every time I take this route I am reminded of how young I was when I first drove my pale blue Falcon to Lambuth College. Those were the __________(days)

Alice and I
See the magazine picture on the bulletin board...that's the one I had framed.
We were really into travel posters back then. Don't know what happened to them.

Back to the present. After lunch at Rafferty's and coffee at Carriage House Antiques we had to go our separate ways. I visited Yarbro's Antiques by myself before heading homeward.

Two purchases ended up in my art space... a tiered display stand and a sugar mold. Because one vendor was closing up her booth at Yarbro's I was able to get the stand. It didn't take me long to fill it up with supplies.

I've been looking at sugar molds for a long time. They are versatile pieces. For now mine is serving as a holder for art brushes.

I spent some of ______(todayorganizing paints, sharpening colored pencils, and rearranging odds and ends in the studio.

Well, I did create this blog post. Maybe tomorrow art. I've enjoyed filling you in on my days. Hope your days are filling up in ways you enjoy.  Talk again soon.

A March Hello

Today was a major errand day since white stuff is in the forecast for Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Had a fine ride to Hobby Lobby this morning. Loving my new Jeep Cherokee more and more but still miss the older Jeep Liberty I drove for years. What fun to use my Christmas gift card from Lauren!

After a soup and salad lunch at home Corkey and I decided to pay a few bills this afternoon. In the car we received a wonderful cell phone call from Lester. He's now Dr. Clowes! He successfully defended his dissertation in the field of education at the University of Southern California. We're definitely proud of his accomplishment.

Did you see Downton Abbey's final episode of the season? Ah, Christmas in March. Loved it!

Favorite Spaces

One of my Pinterest boards is titled Favorite Spaces. Just looking at the different places inside homes is satisfying. Here in my own home I have three nooks that bring me immense pleasure.

HOME ART STUDIO

Keeping things organized in the art area can be a chore, for I tend to drag out supplies and make a lot of clutter.

A drawing on a Pinterest art journaling page gave me the idea to use a similar back pose for this canvas and to add WAITING at the bottom.

  CLOSET NOOK

A small desk fits into this space and allows me to write at night.

Books, pictures, and art surround me in this space and provide lots of memories.

Well, those are my three favorite spots that I feel lucky to have. But after viewing these photos I think I need to work on reducing my clutter. However, because almost every object has a personal significance, it will remain.

Waiting for Inspiration

To relieve some stress I ventured over to the studio space.
Spent a large part of the time over there rearranging in an effort to be more organized.

Decided to experiment with a few colors.

This little studio is a great place to dream and wait for inspiration. Also to forget serious concerns for a short while.
