Catch Up Post

Hi! True to my blog's name, today is going to be bits and pieces.

Painting continues to relax me and take my mind off problems.
I see art by other artists and am inspired to try out their ideas.

Mother's Day flowers, sweet notes, gift bag with pajamas, phone calls,
visits, and PIZZA made my day extra special.

  Container plants and battered old croquet set are on the patio.

Aging causes my energy level to be lower while wrinkles and sags have 
increased. I am thankful for my present health but do regret how I didn't appreciate my youthful  looks when I had them. Life is weird that way. We worry about the wrong things. 

This is one product I am going to recommend.

We live in an older house, and I've had to deal with stains, especially built up
deposits. This works!

Time Marches On

The third month of the year is well underway, and I can't seem to accomplish plans and projects that are on my mind. This is just a "hello" blog message. I'm still trying to keep Bits and Pieces going, but sometimes the words won't flow off the keyboard. Hope you are well and enjoying this beautiful March day. 

Enjoying the Little Things

Sometimes with all the tragic events and bad news it's hard to stay merry. Therefore, it helps to surround oneself with dear familiar objects and favorite
decorations. By sharing my own decorative touches maybe you'll see an idea you like.

  My friend Pat helped me make up my mind about this five dollar wooden     reindeer. She thought I could make it work. Well, I'm so glad I didn't leave it behind in Versailles, Kentucky. Small vintage ornaments fill the inside part.

The advent calendar has a place on the hall tree. Each day I'm adding a tag and decoration.

Reunion, Part 2

Of course, my friends and I love to eat, shop, and talk. After our Lambuth tour on Thursday morning we had lunch at Bakers Rack in downtown Jackson.

Local art lined one wall of the cafe.

We checked out a new place called The Vintage Market that was also downtown.

The Old Country Store was also on our list of places to visit. It is different from the original one I liked. Boy, that first OCS was jampacked with all sorts of antique and vintage goodies. It was the best! Now the store focuses on food selections and some gift items. Next we browsed at an art store in the complex.

Friday was another day of activities. The Carriage House Antique Market was having a Christmas Open House with lots of sales. We all found a few treasures.

Later in the day we had tickets to The Knights Before Christmas Holiday Home Tour presented by Sacred Heart of Jesus High School. We toured five houses decorated for Christmas.

Lovely old doors were used to decorate the wall near the entrance.

 Nutcrackers were on display throughout this home.

This historic home is used for receptions, weddings, birthday parties, etc.

It was the last one we visited on the tour. The other four were family residences.

Our day ended with supper at Baudo's, a fine Italian restaurant well-known in Jackson. When we were college students we loved the pizzas at the small original Baudo's located near the campus.

but happy we were able to make new ones.
