A short End-of-March post

My journals store many memories. 

Just recently my daughter Lauren made labels for the spines.

I like the way the years are clearly visible for quick reference.

Thanks, Lauren, for printing the labels and helping attach them.

My collection looks rather impressive now. 

 There's no doubt I enjoy painting. 

It is good for my soul.

I am very happy when someone chooses one of my paintings.

Working in the flowerbeds is another activity I enjoy. However, I don't have much success when it comes to gardening. Hopefully there will be blooms later in the spring or summer.

I still enjoy painting, especially flowers.

I should devote more time to the flowerbeds.

Memories, Old and New

 Stored away for years... returning them to Lauren and Ryan...sweet memories of precious years

When I attended Tallulah's birthday party, I noticed the tall white bookcase in what will be her future bedroom. Already the shelves are filling up with books and toys.

I have been reading and painting to fill up some of my time.

It makes me happy when others like my paintings. 

One recent Sunday I had a coughing spell in church. My sweet husband went downstairs to the basement and brought back water in this cup. I have been using it ever since 'cause it keeps my coffee at just the right temperature. Plus I like the green design.

The two green pottery pieces were gifts from Lester and Chloe. They made them at a pottery class.

They had a wonderful spring break trip to Hawaii. The girls are growing up so fast!

Also have a new picture on my desk, but it is from 2016.

Hard to believe Lauren and Justin were married in that year, and I'm just now getting their picture framed.

And this precious little one is growing, too.

Enjoyable Days

 Although I would love to travel and see different sights, I've learned to be grateful for what I have here at home. My morning walks have given me a new appreciation for what beauty there is every day in my own corner of the world. I've watched the varying cloud patterns and gradual release of fall foliage.

Corkey spends more time outside than I do. He likes to keep busy even when he knows certain jobs are futile.

 Painting remains a joy. Recently I completed three new paintings. One was a requested abstract for a friend. My favorite is this one because of all the texture. I found a picture at Abandoned Antiques and painted over it since I already had one like it from my own Artjamm experience.

This one desk stays cluttered, but I really don't mind. I like having little things out where I can see them.

I hope everyone's plans for Thanksgiving will be joyful as we remember our blessings.

Ninth Month Wonders

My Aunt Clara Belle was 103 yesterday. Wish I could have spent it with her. This picture of her was taken in September of 2018. Wish she could meet sweet Tallulah. But too many years and distance and circumstances separate them.

 

The Sunday rainbow was a glorious sight. We were returning from a Memphis visit with Tallulah when we witnessed the rainbow while traveling on Wilkinsville Road. I snapped these two pictures from our moving vehicle.

Even though fall is approaching I am still painting flowers.

I am ready for fall's cooler days. And as this message says summer quickly changed into fall.

Flowers

 A few blooms have made their appearance.

Planters near the front doors have blooms, too, thanks to Lowes.

And then I've been painting flowers.

I like these soft colors. One flower got the baking soda/paint technique.

Snowy Days

 The snow is melting. Such a lovely sight, but I'm glad the weather event is over.

During the snowy days inside I turned to art.

So glad a technician came and checked our computer service. After changing out the modem it's working much better. I admit I missed Facebook and Instagram.

So happy with this week's forecast of milder and warmer days.
