Fresh Start

Every year I look for and buy a Susan Branch calendar.
Her blog continues to be one of my favorites.

Every year I look for and buy a new journal.
My writing habit is hard to break.

Most of the time I write at this desk in my clothes closet.
At the end of the day is when I usually write.

Some people start the new year with a list of resolutions. I don't.
However, I want to read the Bible and other devotionals daily.

Now if only I could get into an exercising and eating well habit...

New Year

Having a miserable cold is not the best way to start the new year. Corkey and I both have head colds and no energy. We watched football bowl games throughout New Years Day. It was good to see the Munford High School Band in the Rose Bowl parade. Those young folks will have a lifelong memory of that trip and its experiences.

Those words appear on every entry page.
I need to seek daily joys.
Too often I focus on troubles and worries.

Love this cartoon strip for the new year!

Lost Days

I feel the new year started without me. I have already lost several days in January. I have been inside for days, trying to feel better and stronger. Maybe this week I can venture out and resume some normal activities.

Jo's little boys gave me slipper socks for my birthday in November, and I have really used both pairs while I've been sick.

My every entry will not be joyful.
Already I have written about the misery of flu.

However, I really am thankful for my life and fully realize the many joys I have been given.
Also it is up to me to find the joys in each new day.
