Two Special Blessings

 Those would be granddaughters Tallulah and Etta. Being around them is good medicine for the body and soul.

A Special Day

 Proud of our country's celebration today...250 years of amazing history. So many brave stories were retold, and beautiful landmarks and places across America were shown. 

Then and Now

June of 1989

We married at the Covington Courthouse on June 8th, but had a church service on June 30th so our children, relatives, and friends could share our joy.

December of 2025

This June marked our 37th anniversary. Joys and trials have come our way.

We are facing some health issues and are hoping for more time together.

Corkey is an amazing guy and my wonderful husband.

Come Along

This week I joined two friends at an antique mall. All three of us found a few "treasures" to bring home.  I was so busy looking from booth to booth that I forgot to snap pictures. But here are a few I managed to take.

I wanted to bring the dog home for the front porch but chose instead the beaded trinket box and

this Austin sculpture of two girls...probably sisters...one older, one younger. And of course, I chose it because the figures were reading. My collection of reading figures is one of my favorites. 

Plus the girls reminded me of Tallulah and Etta.

June Snapshots

 When June arrives the daylilies make me feel like a master gardener. Their blooms are so big and beautiful.

My secretary desk is one of my favorite pieces of furniture.

I like to open the glass door and add a new memento or display an old one.

The weekly trips are helping to heal Cork's leg wounds. We have met some dedicated professionals at the Threlkeld office.

Thanks to a sweet friend I have these beautiful blooms in the concrete planters near the door. She gave me lots of petunia seeds and told me they would do well. She was so right!

The flower pots from Tallulah and Etta will stay inside because squirrels caused damage to one of them. 

I chose to use them as pencil holders over in the art space.

A Few Notes

 The end of May is already here. Hard to realize how fast the year is passing by.

And how fast these two are growing up.

Tonight I'll share a few home photos since I spend most of my time there.

This corner shelf that held tiny baby photos now showcases rabbit figurines.

I had this artwork by Eva framed at Hobby Lobby. 

These family pictures were on the hutch, but I moved them to the top of the piano.

Changing things around is pleasurable puttering for me. I like seeing objects in different places. However, I do have some possessions that are never moved. 

By the way, I have new glasses.

Hospital and Weekly Trips for Treatments 

Prayers for Corkey are every day. 

We made it through eight long days at the hospital.

Prayers continue that the infusions worked to fight a resistant bacteria.

The journal Mom's Story may take a long time to complete. I may run out of time.

Talk about frustrating.

My brain is tired from thinking about this.

April Became May

 Corkey and I spent a week in isolation inside a hospital room. Hopefully the treatments worked. He will be seen once a week for additional care.

Miscellaneous

I hope the person who asked for six flowers to represent six sisters will like this trial version.

I'm not wild about this location for the Alex Blum prints, but I hated to store them away.

This corner spot I can't seem to take down.

It reminds me that this life on Earth is not my final home.

Garden blooms are perfect reminders that spring returns every year.

I gave the "hard to decorate" mantel a touch of spring.

I didn't try to completely hide the vents.

This painting was signed '79 Corrick.

On the back of the frame is the seven dollar price tag.

I feel fortunate to have this person's work of art.

It was a thrifting find from several years ago, and this mantel location seems to do it justice.
