One Fast Month to Another

This year my Halloween enthusiasm was lacking. I didn't even buy a pumpkin to carve.

Leaves are starting to change colors.

Gathered leaves from the yard in case I want to frame one or two against a background paper.

November has arrived much to my disbelief. How can a year zoom by so fast?

Also to my disbelief I have a son who is thirty-nine today.

Happy Birthday, Ryan!
Thanks for all the wonderful memories.
Love you always.

An Amazing Day

Yes, that's the way I would describe November 2, 1978, for that's the day I experienced the birth of my first child, a son.

His smile continues to make me happy.

Happy Birthday, Ryan! Thank you for introducing me to motherhood and giving me such beautiful memories.

Love this date!

On this day in 1978 I experienced wonder and love as son Ryan was born. Thirty-two years later his birthday brings back all the joy and excitement of that momentous day. Although we live far apart the modern marvel of cell phones enabled us to talk today and share some precious minutes. That's my personal reason for loving this date.

It was also a great feeling to vote today.  I'll be watching election returns later tonight.

Halloween decorations are back in storage so I've been rearranging objects.

Thanks for your November visit. Come again.

Cozy and Warm

I am thankful on this cold winter night that we have heat and light. Winter storms in other parts of the country are creating serious problems. In a few minutes I will leave the computer screen and head to the kitchen to bake cookies. Our youngest son is turning 28 tomorrow, and his only request- chocolate chip cookies. His boyish desire for cookies never changes, and that is comforting since life is all about change. Another thing that stays the same is the original Nestle Toll House recipe on the back of the package of morsels. It never fails to satisfy the kids and grandkids . . . and me, too!
