Before April Ends...

This year is passing fast or so it seems. April showers have helped the return of spring plants and flowers.

Every day I watch for more blooms. And every spring I wish I had planted more varieties. Oh well, I'm thankful for the ones that do come back without any effort on my part.

The art room has been beckoning me to return to painting attempts.

The other day I was reading an old post and tried to remove a tiny box that had come up on the page. Somehow I managed to delete the whole entry. It was titled My Addiction and explained my love of ornaments with several photos of a few special ones. It feels weird to have that post gone forever. But then I realize one day all we have will be left behind.

Tonight I was looking through annuals from my teaching days. That was weird, too.  So many students with youthful smiles... I will never know what happened to most of them.

Childhood days are gone in a flash, and adult years pass quickly, too. Living in the moment is the hard lesson to grasp and practice.

April, I hate to see you go.

Sweet One

Awake or asleep she is such a sweetheart. Of course, I am prejudiced. This grandchild is near and dear to my heart. So many prayers have helped her get this far.

Hopping On Real Quick

This small white basket is the same one that was used in the oil painting of Lauren.

Thought I'd pass it on to Tallulah.

MY GIRLS

Lauren and Tallulah

This month is zipping by with strange weather patterns. On a recent very warm day Lauren made this photo with Tallulah.

April encourages decorating with baskets, eggs, and rabbits. These two are my main displays. The bottom one is special because most of the eggs were once tucked in the kids' Easter baskets.

The days of this week are focused on the true meaning of Easter.

HAPPY EASTER!

Praise GOD from whom all blessings flow...

April's Arrival

Just a few photos and notes tonight to introduce a new month...

I put out the birdhouses that Kiera and Chloe painted and wanted to leave for the birds in our garden.

Two art panels got some leftover paint.

This little one is fascinating to watch and a joy to cuddle.

Memories, Old and New

Stored away for years... returning them to Lauren and Ryan...sweet memories of precious years

When I attended Tallulah's birthday party, I noticed the tall white bookcase in what will be her future bedroom. Already the shelves are filling up with books and toys.

I have been reading and painting to fill up some of my time.

It makes me happy when others like my paintings.

One recent Sunday I had a coughing spell in church. My sweet husband went downstairs to the basement and brought back water in this cup. I have been using it ever since 'cause it keeps my coffee at just the right temperature. Plus I like the green design.

The two green pottery pieces were gifts from Lester and Chloe. They made them at a pottery class.

They had a wonderful spring break trip to Hawaii. The girls are growing up so fast!

Love this quote I keep on my desk.

Also have a new picture on my desk, but it is from 2016.

Hard to believe Lauren and Justin were married in that year, and I'm just now getting their picture framed.

And this precious little one is growing, too.

Random

How I love a good fiction book that takes me away to different places and reveals the problems, loves, and challenges of other individuals.

How I love a new small purchase that makes me happy with daily living. This kitchen counter lamp was a spur of the moment buy to brighten up a dark corner.

How I love sentimental family treasures. This dulcimer was made and played by my dad. The granddaughter he never got to meet has it displayed on a wall in her living room.

I'm trying to stay positive in today's confusing world. Tuesday's devotional  mentioned that struggles and pain are to strengthen our faith.

Jesus said, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
                                                                                              -John 16:33

Watching the people of Ukraine leave their homes with a few belongings to face an uncertain future is heartbreaking and shows their remarkable courage. Prayers for those who are staying and fighting the Russian invasion. Prayers for wise decisions by world leaders. Prayers for peace.

A Very Special March Birthday

This little one turned one and had a wonderful celebration.

Tallulah fills my heart with gladness.

Her big day was amazing with special decorations, great food, lovely weather, and caring guests. Justin and Lauren gave Tallulah a super party!
