B e l i e v e ...

One reason I enjoy browsing at antique malls is because there is such a wide assortment of items...true antiques, crafts, collectibles, and all kinds of odds and ends. This sign was hanging up high above a dealer's booth. Needless to say, I found it intriguing...wasn't sure where it would be displayed at my house ...stored it until December. Well, I'm happy to report that it fits across my kitchen window sill and is a delightful addition to my Christmas decorations.

And you've probably guessed that I love the tag look of each letter.

I thought I was through shopping once I had found the boxes of ornaments. But then I spied a tiny reindeer. 

In this 2004 Special Edition on page 61 there was a really cute idea I had bookmarked. 

  Well, below is my sweet deer.

For the Holidays

More holiday items I took to the booth yesterday. For some reason I love cups holding tiny trees. At the store I bought a few things which I'll share in a later post.

Cork and I and other church members had delivered Christmas toys to the Reelfoot Rural Ministries before sharing lunch at the restaurant established in 1921.

And so the most delightful month begins...

I have been getting my booth ready for Christmas Open House this Saturday.  Refreshments, door prizes, and lots of sales make it a fun day for browsing and shopping. 

Of course, yesterday's snow flurry was short-lived, but lovely to watch for that brief time. For now a snow globe will have to do. 

It's Snowing!

What a surprise this morning! Big flakes are falling, and the ground is getting a light dusting of snow. I've enjoyed the past few days decorating the house for Christmas. I had help from two of my sons. Les who was home for Thanksgiving

assembled the tree the Friday morning of his flight back to Los Angeles. On Saturday afternoon Jo added strands of lights and the lighted ornaments. I finished decorating with all the other ornaments. I also had two little helpers... grandsons Gunner and Nicolas. I can't believe the tree is up and very festive looking. This was the easiest time I've ever had with the tree.

I wish you happy decorating. I'm sure you'll see familiar decorations as well as a few new ones as I post in the days ahead. 

Our Thanksgiving Table

The dining table is set for tomorrow's meal. Actually it's two tables put together to accomodate our large family.

 Thanksgiving is a perfect time for my favorite colors of rust, gold, and brown.
