Happy Day

On the first of April I had the pleasure of keeping Tallulah an entire afternoon while her parents painted their kitchen. She was a joy to watch. However, by the end of the afternoon I realized how very old I am. I was tired with a backache. But the time with Tallulah was certainly worth it.

Spying Green

Green is symbolic of March. First views of returning green have occurred in the backyard.

Love this time of year when green returns outside. But green never leaves the inside of my house.

Third Month Passing Quickly

For days I have thought about posting, but something always comes up. The past seven days I have lost due to sickness. Hopefully this terrible cold is almost over. I've never coughed and sneezed so much. Gee, to feel well once more will be fantastic.

A few home shots since that's where I've been for days...

Lots of hours spent resting in bed or recliner...so ready to have energy again.

A Splendid Start to March

It was a beautiful and sunny day for an outdoor birthday party celebration.

Precious Tallulah was two on Sunday March 5th.

Lauren and Justin are such good parents to sweet Tallulah.

(That's Ryan and me in the background enjoying a hug.)

Come September Tallulah could have a little sister.

A Sweet Valentine

Recently a friend of mine had a birthday. We taught together for years and shared some memorable milestones in our lives. Thinking of her made me pull out my old annuals and spend a morning hour in days gone by. Inside one annual I came across an envelope with a folded construction paper card. My goodness, it has been tucked inside that annual for fifty years! Love the drawings and even that one misspelled word.

Looking back through those yearbooks with sweet handwritten messages was quite a touching experience. So many wonderful memories of my young teaching days and different classes. I decided to do a Facebook album and named it Newbern Classes. It was certainly a trip down memory lane. My goodness, how I remember those dresses and other outfits!

In the Mood

Now and then I like to share, even if my sharing lacks excitement. So glad the sunshine is melting the remains of the ice storm although the bushes and trees  did look beautiful with the glistening ice.

I've not been productive over the past few days while waiting out the ice storm. Laziness was my constant companion.

I wanted to paint something new, but only managed to retouch a few pictures that will probably require a third makeover.

Needing one more farm theme art (the lower far right) to complete this wall. I am better at collecting art than making it. Hopefully the right piece will turn up on a thrifting day in the near future.

When I was antiquing/thrifting with my cousins last month I came across this message board. Simple words of wisdom that are worth following.

Have a joyful weekend!!!
