Tuesday Tidbits

This book will hold your interest from the beginning to the very last page.
Once you start it, it will be hard to put down.

I have a thing for birds. Fake ones are decorative inside, and real ones thrive outside.

Art journal page, featuring a cutout bird

It is nearing my bedtime, but wanted to jump on here and share this quick post.

Happy Mistake

I had one more blank canvas and decided yesterday to do something with it. Nothing was working out, especially the shade of brown I tried to mix.  I was disappointed with my efforts. However, I found a place for my "mistake" painting and am HAPPY with it after all.

May Memories, Big and Small

BAND CONCERT

Nicolas is a member of the sixth grade band.
This was his first concert.

GRADUATION

grandson Garrett Clowes, son of Jason and Nacona

granddaughter Jasmine Fayne, daughter of Chance and Jeff

It was a beautiful night for the seniors and their families. Lester flew into Memphis so he could surprise Garrett and Jasmine. It was nice to have him home for two days.

All the Clowes guys posed for a picture.
(Corkey, Lester, Jo, Garrett, Gunner, Jason,
Lucas and Nicolas)

It is weird to be the old ones in group pictures.
Ah, to be young!
I remember my own graduation and find it hard to believe that so many years have gone by.

A NEW PAINTING

After weeks away from the "studio" it felt good to use paints again.

LUCKY FIND

I really didn't expect to find one today, but there it was after a quick glance at the clovers.  I had taken water out to Corkey as he was mowing the grass. Such a happy surprise! A simple joy. Decided to press it in a book with today's date.

Hopes and Dreams

That's what seniors and graduation are all about.
Best wishes to this group of 2019 graduating seniors

Today's seniors are fortunate to have such photo choices. Picture card announcements are certainly popular. We have enjoyed getting them in the mail.

They have so many firsts to look forward to...so much lies ahead for them.

What they don't know is how fast these young years will pass.

Daily Business

Laundry, meals, vacuuming...not a lot of fun, but certainly necessary.

Sharing a few looks here at home since that's where I've been spending my time...

Friends gave me this authentic Irish shamrock plant.

realistic fake bird nest

I tried this look but didn't stay with it.
Placed the wood trim down on a shelf instead.
For some reason I am drawn to architectural pieces.

Brass tray, votive, and special pillow have a place near my easy chair.

Art journal pages are relaxing to do.
I enjoy having studio space for art.

That's it for now...everyday kind of stuff.

Disappearing Days

May is upon us. Gee, April didn't stay long. Honestly this fast passage of time is a bit disturbing. There's so much I want to accomplish, but never seem able to get my act together.

Painting continues to help me relax, especially when I do angels.

Today's other form of relaxation was to browse at an antique store.

For five dollars I hated to leave Barb's '87 picture behind.

Friday's finds: picture, nest, architectural piece, butter pat, and green suitcase.

Three suitcases make a bedside table over in the apartment.
The middle one was mine during my college years.
This picture from 1967 really takes me back!

By the way, it's been a very good day for two other reasons. A very special friend called me this morning. When we talk, I feel all is right with the world even though we both recognize it's full of problems.

Then watching these baby robins rest on our patio table was fascinating. The mother bird was nearby on a telephone wire when I crept close for these pictures. Also I spotted a pretty bluebird using the birdhouse that my very
special friend gave me a few years ago.

Have a happy weekend!
