Beautiful Memories

So thankful our family could be together at Christmas. Hope your holiday was special, too. Times like these provide moments and memories to cherish.

Pennee and Kiera made ornaments together,
and I was given one for the tree.
Since our time together was so short, my husband insisted upon no dishwashing.
We used throw away plates and cups. Kiera, our little helper, added tiny stars to the clear cups.

Where once there was noise and activity, the rooms are now quiet. I have started to take down decorations, but really hate to see the tree come down.
Oh well, I'll have to let pictures capture Christmas 2015 and cling to the memories that were made.

Little Things

I'm a big believer in little things that bring joy.

When I had a birthday recently, Goody's sent a ten dollar coupon in the mail.
I used it to obtain the red truck ornament. Then the cashier told me I could select two more ornaments. Two more free ones. I couldn't believe my ears.
The store was having a buy one, get two free.

Snow globes are magical. This one I bought a long time ago because of the little boy and girl. It plays "We Wish You A Merry Christmas."

Another store in town is Dirt Cheap. I found the Kelly Rae Roberts angel for four dollars. I nestled her in the dough bowl with my old croquet balls and heaped ornaments on top.

The Merry Christmas banner was an inexpensive find last year at Plantation Antiques.

This is a Santa I bought years ago because of the list. I was so thrilled to see the names Ryan and Ashley.

These two ornaments were made sometime in the 70's from Elmer's glue, food coloring, and gold gift-wrap cord.

So it's true that I love little things, past or present.

One Thing For Sure

When it's time to take down Christmas decor I will have a tough time finding all my regular stuff. I have tucked those things away here and there. But I'll think about that later. For now I'm enjoying the little treasures that have come out of hiding.

The little guys were here on Thursday. I like when they stray away from the cartoons and decide to start building. You can see in this photo where the church pew ends up since the tree takes up its regular place. I  have the nativity on the low table so the boys can see the manger and handle the figures.

Another chalkboard printable is inside the secretary. I painted an old tan frame the fresh green color.

I have been running errands this week and came across some delightful new finds and also secured a certain one that I had been watching for weeks. I'll share those later. Glad you were here and hope that  you'll be back.

Christmas Delights

Many of these decorations are used year after year. I try to change up the way they're displayed. For instance, instead of placing the vintage ornaments in glass bowls, this year I spread them out on a silver serving tray. The tray is going to be the centerpiece on the dining table. I'm sure you will see it again later in the month.

The top of the bookcase continues to get my assortment of holiday houses. This photo only shows a portion of what's up there.

Oh, how I love a Christmas tree full of dear ornaments!

So happy with the vintage looking garland I bought at Charlene's.

I never dreamed the years would pass so fast.

Have a wonderful week of planning, shopping, decorating, etc.

Candles, Customers, and Cotton

Lucas  enjoyed an early birthday celebration. He will be five on December 8th.

Holiday touches also came to the booth for Christmas Open House today. Customers were treated to refreshments, sales, and door prize chances.

At the birthday party Jo and Jamie insisted that we take one of their puppies. We are now the owners of a sweet bundle of fur we named Cotton.
