Miscellaneous

Another school year comes to a close.

For grandson Gunner it meant his eighth grade graduation. My, he has grown up fast!

Art room is still my quiet place. Bird images and words have  come together for recent creations. At Goodwill I picked up the white dish with the bird on a twig.

Spice has been taking good care of her kittens. All four are staying inside the shed, but soon they will venture out to explore.

Not sure how much longer I will keep my booth open. Business has been slow, and it's getting harder to find replacement items.

Special Clocks

These clocks do not run. But they are set to special times. My firstborn son arrived at 5:04a.m. in 1978. My second baby, a daughter, arrived at 2:17a.m. in 1981. A few years ago I saw this clock idea in a decorating magazine. I thought to myself one of these days when I find some unique antique clocks I'd like to do that. Well, never finding those vintage ones, I recently decided to use these more modern ones. Love these timely reminders of two of life's greatest moments and blessings.

Out of Season

This small painting was a Goodwill find. I removed it from an ugly frame and just leaned the thin art canvas against hardbacks on the bookcase. There was no name on the artwork. My photos don't do it justice.

You never know what will be at a Goodwill store. That's the wonder of it.

May Days

Gosh, May will be gone before I can make a few posts. My plan was to post before or on Mother's Day, but time gets away. Mother's Day has become a bittersweet celebration. I miss my own mother so much. Sometimes emotion hits me out of nowhere on ordinary days, and I feel such a great loss.  There's no going back to sweeter days when she was alive and with me. So forward it is...until we meet again.

Dear cards, messages, phone calls, flowers, and gifts helped the day pass with thanksgiving. I'm so glad to be Mom and Grams.

Garden blooms and baby kittens have made some days extra special.

Oreo had four kittens this time. Nicolas and Lucas picked out their favorite to take home.

 Jo(father of Nicolas and Lucas)gave
me two Knockout Roses on Mother's Day.  That very day he was happy to dig and get them in the ground.

May, Already?

On this first day of May the garden revealed new blooms.

Yesterday I added the garden fairy. Big Lots had several garden accessories for fairy houses. All were cute, but I only splurged on this one.

I wonder how long it will take Nick and Lucas to discover him near their fairy house.
