Waiting for Inspiration

To relieve some stress I ventured over to the studio space.
Spent a large part of the time over there rearranging in an effort to be more organized.

Decided to experiment with a few colors.

This little studio is a great place to dream and wait for inspiration. Also to forget serious concerns for a short while.

I picked up this journal book several years ago because of the divisions. I thought one day I would like to tell my life story within its pages. That one day arrived this winter. It has been harder than I imagined, but also very rewarding.
It's a work in progress. Good thing I bought two of these  journal brown, one black. Writings and photos in this first journal will reveal the early years of my life, spanning childhood through college. The other one(if I ever get around to it)will have labels for Dyersburg, Atoka, and Drummonds.

Whether or not the book is ever read by family members doesn't really matter to me. I have enjoyed reviewing my life and putting facts, anecdotes, and reminiscences down on paper. It has made me realize anew that I have had a wonderful life...a unique journey that's all my own.
Everybody's life is special. Each person should record their autobiography. It's a fascinating endeavor.

Valentine's Day Decor

For Valentine's Day I made a quick and easy banner and gathered a few decorations for the bookcase. Years ago I collected pairs. Decided to bring them out for February.
Wish I had more bookcases throughout our house...maybe a whole wall of built-in shelves...guess this one bookcase will have to do.

Little Things

I'm sad that Open Marketplace is closing its doors in a few days. Because many booths had deep discounts, I found this decorative box for $1.50.

These two frames turned up at Goodwill.
Bargain hunting is good for what ails you. It frees your mind to focus only on the hunt. And more than likely you'll find one or more little treasures.

We woke up to snow on the ground. My husband was soon out there in the cold clearing snow from the driveway. We drove carefully to the nursing home to check on my mother and then had a late breakfast at IHOP.

Lit some candles tonight...not because we were without electricity...just because of their cozy glow.

Time to Myself

Messy, wet, inside day.

Stamped my way toward a good mood.
Baked a batch of sugar cookies to go with afternoon coffee.
Mood is much better by now.
Read about other people's lives and their problems.
Gee, my problems don't seem so bad.

Life is good.

Collecting Quotes

This small notebook of quotes is almost full. These bits of thought provide lots of inspiration. I'd like to share a few of my favorites. Hope you read one that you like.

Many more are pasted in that notebook. Some are handwritten while others are clippings from magazines.
Just days ago I came across a magazine picture with a quote and glued it down on the second page to the etc... simple journaling notebook.
