Fleeting February

On a rainy day last week I pulled out a few paints and experimented with colors.

Also added a page to my art journal.

This book provided light reading on another gloomy day.

This is one of the first paintings I did many years ago.

I keep at painting because it relaxes me and brings peace of mind.
Angels and flowers are my usual subjects.

Things are slow around here. Including me.
Happy last week of February!

Life

This year is moving along, and I try not to fret about lost hours and days. I did three new journal pages.

The title for the abstract
is "confused yet sure."

This art journal page looked better before I applied the brown wash. Oh well, I do like the quote below 2020.

I stamped the words onto this angel.

Besides dabbling in art I've been changing up accessories in the house.

This arched piece was in another bedroom during Christmas.
I have kept the snowy wreath on it, but will need something different for spring.

I moved this candle to the piano where I used a scarf of mine across the top.

Entry change for February

This picture was once a magazine advertisement. I laminated the page and used it for many years in my elementary classroom. I still love the sweetness of this Valentine's Day scene.

The Days of Our Lives

I think of that soap opera title every now and then, especially as one month ends and a new one begins. The days are passing quickly, reminding me to enjoy them while I'm able.

Discarding many old letters and cards has not been easy for me. There were some I couldn't bring myself to throw away because I simply love handwritten messages. Three hatboxes were full of tied up bundles. So many memories came flooding back - dating, shopping, Vietnam, marriages, births - as I reread my collection of long ago correspondence.

At one local store I saw this sign on a shelf and smiled. My plan is to narrow down my collections this year.

A good friend brought me a late Christmas bag of goodies. We missed getting together during the holidays due to sickness. This kitchen towel had the perfect colors and message. It's too pretty to use!

Yesterday I tried painting, but there was no creative spark. I guess I need to get back into a routine of daily practice.

Until next time...
Take Care!
