Odds and Ends

I fulfilled a request for a set of tags featuring cats.
Orange is the favorite color of the recipient.
By the way, our recent visitor is staying close.
She likes regular meals and attention.
Naming her is probably next.

a bird assemblage using moss, a real birdnest, and print shared by Dawn at  The Feathered Nest

These last three are shots from my studio corner: a vintage coin holder that's now a handy catch-all, a pencil jar, and some letter stamps. I love being in that space surrounded by stuff that puts me in the mood to create.
Summer heat has made it to Tennessee for the arrival of June tomorrow. Ready or not, the hot weather is here.

Thursday Tidbits

This tag set was sent to North Carolina today.

This assortment will be given as a Thank You gesture to a sweet person who gave me three wallpaper books for free.

These magnets were fun to make and will go to the booth.

This friendly visitor was found in our lawn mower shed.

Happy to report we missed damaging storms last night.
Today was a super nice day.

Storms

The reporting about the tornadoes makes you stop and take into account what is truly important. I cannot imagine the horror so many have had to endure. Another system is being watched today in the South. We never know when our own life will face a storm...Mother Nature's or another kind...maybe the loss of a loved one from disease or tragic accident...dreams crushed due to divorce...a health crisis...or whatever serious problems that come our way. I want to appreciate family and friends in this turbulent world. And to trust always in God who knows the bigger plan for each of us. In closing I want to share two pictures I snapped on Sunday. Photo title: Three Reasons To Smile

A Few Favorites

Hello...thought I'd share a few favorites here at home. Forgive me if I have some repeats.

lovely cracked dish

Long ago I borrowed the idea of custard cups for salt and pepper from Martha Stewart. Oh, how I loved her early taped programs in that inviting kitchen with all the custard cups and crocks. Does anyone remember those fabulous displays of her favorite things in those first shows?

New Look

Although these photos won't show everything we did today, they will reveal part of  the new look my friend Mary and I gave to Booth#89.
The booth was overdue for a revamping. We rearranged and made room for a hutch which provides display space.

I think the pieces Mary finds and renovates will boost sales. She has a real knack for creating something special out of other people's castaways. We are excited about working together to make our booth one that people return to again and again.

Garden News

This rosebush was selected by my son Jo and given to me on Mother's Day. He also planted it in the ground for me. It's a Double Knock Out rose. So for me it's the plant of the month. Hopefully it will thrive and be a real knock0ut in years to come.

Birdwatching

This little one has been staying on our front porch...sometimes hiding near flowerpots. Fortunately his mama has been bringing food and keeping a watchful eye.

These babies are nestled in their home on a gutter on the back of the house.

All this bird activity put me in the mood to make a bird tag set.

Thoughts

I have been trying for days to sit down and compose a few thoughts. Lots of ideas swirl through my head, but everyday life seems to keep me busy and away from this blog. I had a lovely Mother's Day and meant to write about it. I meant to honor my mom with words and pictures. Reminds me of that poem "I Meant To Do My Work Today"... replacing the word Work with Blog. Well, I hope you understand I meant to be here.

Have a happy Wednesday.

Let us make haste to live, since every day to a wise man is a new life.

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, worn, or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.

A Little Bit of Gold

Trying to appreciate little things and golden moments...that's what I must remember as life changes constantly and sometimes too quickly...
have a "time for tea" Thursday.

Catching Up

I flipped my calendar to this new month that truly sneaked up on me. April was here for such a short while or so it seemed.

Nicolas spent Friday with us, and his sweet disposition made it a joyful day. He explored my closet territory and found miniatures and markers.

Friday and Saturday were delightful days of sunshine. Today rain, hail, and tornado warnings returned. However, I'm hoping for a calm and lovely May.

Pretend the shorebird shadows are you and me having a nice chat.
Thanks for dropping by.
Sandy
