A Spring Break Day

These two youngsters are good for the soul. They have been here quite a bit this week due to their spring break. One day we painted and filled up three blank canvases with color.

Lucas is eight and full of life. He's a quick painter. The last thing he added to the red house was the message JOY.

Nick is eleven and takes his time. He's a serious painter.

I'm still into angels. I'm a messy painter, using my fingertips as much as brushes.

Emotions

One reason I haven't been writing on this blog is because my emotions have been up and down and very confusing. Aging probably plays a part. But it's also due to trying to understand the changes in today's society. Many of the morals and values I grew up with seem to be disappearing. On another day I may write more and delve into details and feelings. Then again it may be best to keep quiet.

But one thing stays true and constant - the return of spring blooms.

Hope you had a lovely day. Mine was pleasant because of yard work, cleaning out a closet, organizing art room, and shopping at a couple of favorite stores.

The Joy of Ordinary Days

March has had some pleasant days; they have not all been rainy and gloomy.

Tired of Rain

Thank goodness for books, painting, and March basketball games. I'm sitting at the computer table in the guest bedroom and thought I'd dash off a quick post.

I should be getting tired of flower paintings, but I'm not.

One more birdbath and I'll have a collection.
I have moved these together for now on top of the chest.
So ready to try out some different arrangements come Spring.

Happy Weekend!

Changes

It is really cold this Sunday, but my thoughts are of spring. Yesterday I finished  this flower painting and placed it temporarily on the kitchen windowsill. This afternoon I'll stay inside, have a cup of coffee, and read. Brrr...

More Painting Practice

Sometimes the first effort is the best. The second angel has been difficult to do.
Still not satisfied with it, but will leave it for awhile.

A change... I tried the farmhouse windmill.

I like to paint with creams, grays, and browns.

Art Appreciation

When I'm over in the art room I lose track of time.
After seeing the art of other artists I try creating similar pieces.
Would love to develop my own style.
