A Treasury of Memories

The memories linger of a special Christmas Eve.
This little one is the newest member of our clan.
Kiera was born in September and experienced her first Christmas with aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pennee, Les, Kiera, and Juno

Lauren and Les sharing the joy of laughter

One of the sweetest memories was when four-year- old Nicolas neatly folded his new outfits back into the box. When he tucked the shirt under his chin and folded the sleeves perfectly back in place, all eyes were on him in disbelief.

Oh, how I wish Ryan could have been in this picture!

One-year-old Lucas welcomed his dad's help.

Lester was kind enough to share his pictures with me. This is one of my favorites. Everyone crowded into the livingroom to watch the kids open packages.

Lauren used brown paper and vivid yarn to decorate her packages.

We are blessed to be one large FAMILY.

All Is Calm

All is calm tonight, but tomorrow may be different with three grandboys to keep and the arrival of Lester, Pennee, and Kiera from California. Of course, come Christmas Eve our number increases even more.

Wishing you a Christmas of joy and peace...

Merry Christmas

A Little More Decorating

Filling containers with Christmas balls...can't seem to stop. I just love the way they look.

Another favorite of mine...baby cups with ornament nestled on top. This one
and another one are at the booth.

A recent Goodwill find

I had planned to sell the bird stand at the booth, but as so often happens I  decided to keep it.

Can't have too many little trees. Love putting them into cups, toothpick holders,
and other small vessels.

I guess everyone is busy tending to holiday errands. I love this time before Christmas. The anticipation ...the getting ready...planning and decorating.

Thanks for visiting. Drop by again.

Calmness

This simple little button tree has a soothing effect on me. It sits on a plain candlestick table that my dad once put together for me. As I make countless trips through the den it reminds me to stay calm. Why rush? Slow down and enjoy this time of year.

Calm Christmas Greetings
for
the
week
ahead.

A Tennessee Writer

Yes, my friend Carla is an author. As she dealt with the tragic loss of her husband Muril, she turned to writing and kept a grief journal. Tears, Fears, and Hanging by a Prayer is her account of events and people during this transition period.

Today in Jackson, Tennessee, there was a book signing event for several Tennessee writers. It was held in an old library building. In fact, years ago we came here as college students to read and do research.

Carla and I have shared a long friendship. To know her is to love her.

She is caring, wise, and funny. She writes in the same way. This book is sure to be an inspiration to others.

Congratulations, Carla! I am so
proud of you...and Muril would
be, too.

Snowy Wednesday

We woke up to a snowy day.

Due to school closings two grandsons spent the day with us.

It was a good day to get Christmas cards ready for mailing.

Some favorite Christmas colors of mine are gold and cream.

Thanks so much for dropping by.
