Time Matters

Almost every day there are terrible happenings. I'm sure you know about them.

But prayers continue, and hope remains. Small everyday things begin to mean a lot. Watering flowers, walking outside, finding a spot and purpose for this shelf  I've had for years, reading, sharing a meal, etc.

So glad to share another birthday with Nicolas. He's now fourteen and a freshman in high school. Time marches on.

Tallulah was fascinating to watch whether awake or asleep. Rocking and holding her during her hour long nap was very special. She will soon be six months old. Time is moving on.

I want to appreciate the hours of each day since time means so much to me now.

Simple Image

A quiet scene...a simple tin can with a few blooms.

With so much chaos going on in the world right now, this image is calming.

I hope you are having a peaceful Sunday.

Thrilling Moments

Seeing, holding, and watching my granddaughter

after waiting five months

So happy Lauren and Justin have moved from Austin to Memphis.

Thrifting Finds

Finding items I like at bargain prices is "the thrill of the hunt."

The one tiny nick on this planter doesn't bother me.
I chose the stylish lady as a holder for makeup brushes.

This new Made in Thailand vase will look good this fall holding a twig or two of autumn leaves.

This Made in Italy box had several worn places that I touched up with gold leaf.

You never know what you will find when you stop at antique shops and thrift stores. That's the fun of looking.

One Day At A Time

I'm glad that's the way life happens. Thankfully we can't see our tomorrows.

I have started a new simple journaling notebook.
I must be addicted to saving the days of my life.
I have simple journaling notebooks, my other journals, and these blog entries.

It's been a long time since I shared a book recommendation.
This one was a bit odd, but held my interest to the very last page.
One review on the back cover used the word "Riveting."

Painting is something I continue to do. Faces are beyond my ability, but I keep trying.

A couple of smalls from this week

It has been so hot this week that I have not ventured outside much except to do my morning laps and to water porch and patio plants.

Back to Basics

Last week I started a walking routine again. Trying my best to stick to morning and late afternoon walks.

This tall pine and a few pebbles help me track my number of laps on the circular drive in the morning.

In the afternoon I follow a route that takes in the front and back yard areas.

I hope by being more active I will feel better.

Antiquing

It's enjoyable because you never know what you will see. Here's a tiny sampling of today's browsing at Millington's Abandoned Antiques.
