Quest Brings Reward

Saturday I was at a flea market with a friend. We had checked out the different booths on our first trip through the building. On our second round she noticed an art picture that was propped up near the floor. I found it hard to believe I had overlooked it earlier. The scene had a special quality. It was so peaceful...almost dreamlike.

The back of the picture provided additional information.

The farmhouse, lighted window, barn, windmill, hay mound, clothesline, pond, and figure were all interesting details. The price was an amazing fifteen dollars. My sweet friend encouraged me to not leave it behind. So glad I listened to her.

I'm looking forward to hanging this special flea market find.

Can't Make Up Its Mind

This has been a strange February. Some days will make you think it's spring.

This Japanese magnolia tree is full of beautiful blooms.
However, our side yard will soon be covered with pink petals.

A few rainy days had me inside painting.

One day was spent antiquing, and three of my finds were:
1) an art figure to hold bracelets

Ten years ago I had clipped and saved this magazine picture 'cause I liked the look of the art form on the chest.

 2) a tiny brass cat

3) a hull planter with mushrooms

Blessings

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

On Friday Nicolas was released from LeBonheur Children's Hospital. Antibiotics had cleared an infection that was located in a vertebra of his back.  Prayers had been answered.

This morning as Corkey and I were having coffee and reading the newspaper, we had a lovely surprise. Three boys wearing smiles came by before school - Gunner, Nicolas, and Lucas. They had tulips for me and candy for Corkey. They also gave us the best hugs.

Corkey liked the simple homemade valentine I had placed on his desk. It was two red hearts glued together with a message in the center. The words I had cut  from a recent cartoon strip.

your heart and my heart
are very, very old friends

We are thankful and happy to be together. In spite of aches and pains we have, we count our blessings that we also have each other.

Hope your day is filled with

Hoping and Praying

Our sweet grandson Nicolas was taken to LeBonheur yesterday. He has been running a fever for five days. He is having tests to determine the reason for his pain.
His beautiful smile

Nicolas is high up on the top floor.

Memphis is blessed to have LeBonheur and St. Jude.

When you have a loved one sick, your world changes fast.

Yipes, it's February!

HELLO

A little borrowed sketch by me
The real artist had drawn the cutest side ponytail on the girl with sunglasses.

This bookmark was included in a card.
I have many bookmarks that were lovely gifts from students and friends.
They are made from different materials -
paper, leather, needlework, fabric, and metal.

MY HAPPY PLACE

It was good to be back in my favorite space today.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK
