Saturday Notes

On my recent short trip I carried this little notebook that I stumbled across at a booth in Open Marketplace(a store that is now closed). I kept notes, receipts, and clippings inside it.

This print was matted and nicely framed. It spoke to me so I easily parted with five dollars to obtain it. Once home I searched the artist's name on Pinterest, discovering it was a painting by Edward Martinez titled Deep Conversation.

P.S. My photo doesn't do it justice. The colors are much richer.

This was another inexpensive find. This slender shelf has slots. It is holding some of my favorite quotes.

Another picture I carried back to Tennessee was a "Winnie The Pooh" illustration of a picnic scene. It had this message below the print -

                                                           A
                                           just-being-together
                                                   sort of day.

Thanks for dropping by. Just being together via this blog is also nice.

Storefronts, Windows, and Signs

I was back in Bardstown, Kentucky, with my college friends for four wonderful days. We wanted to revisit this charming town. Bardstown was named the "most beautiful small town in America."  In addition to shopping, dining, and talking,  we enjoyed the outdoor drama production of the Stephen Foster story.

My favorite sign is still this one.

When music came from a jukebox...

Sometimes I think it would be nice to return to the fifties.
Life seemed easier and sweeter. We enjoyed a  mystery
dinner theater night with friends. Although I didn't
dress in 1950's attire, one accessory was on my arm...
a bracelet full of charms.

In the month of June

June is a special month for us. My husband and I get to celebrate our anniversary on two different dates. Twenty-five years ago we were married by Ms. Clara McMillin in a simple but meaningful ceremony at the Covington Courthouse on June 8th. Later on June 30th we had another ceremony at Quito United Methodist Church with our children standing up front with us as we said our vows before family and a few friends.

June has been a busy month so far with frequent checks on Mother's care and also caring for grandkids.

Selfies...ugh!

Blank pages and a blank canvas are waiting on me.

I did change the cover of my simple journaling book...from that black cover with etc to what you see below.

With all the rain we've been having our garden has some new blooms.

enjoying one day at a time...

A bit of rambling...

favorite chair
I love to sink into this chair. It has a prominent place in the den. Grandkids like it, too. Toys and crumbs end up along  its sides and on the floor. The ottoman is popular with the little ones as a bouncing seat.
A flea market wood pedestal was added to the kitchen to hold our Roma tomatoes. Also new to the kitchen is the lovely lady on the clip magnet. Pennee gave me the Kelly Rae Roberts surprise on Mother's Day.
