Thankfulness

Many are my blessings. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving that will long be remembered as the time when our nine year old grandson delivered the prayer before the meal and spoke in his own words, stirring emotions in those seated at the table.

November is drawing to a quiet close at my house. The pumpkins and fall decor have been removed in order to begin Christmas decorating.

Last night the church tree was decorated and given a new star.

Today was the first Sunday of Advent.

I want to pause and give thanks for every blessing.

I'm happy that you were here.

The Night Before Thanksgiving

Hello! Since my cousin Ellen(in the black tee shirt) shared her photos with me, here's the four of us when we were at the Sun Studio.
That was such a fun day.

My brother Ron plays the guitar and has written several songs that I think are quite good.

The table is ready for tomorrow's gathering.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Music and Barbecue

Thursday, November 10

It took my Indiana cousins coming into town to get me to the famous Sun Studio. I'm glad Ellen was determined to see this Memphis landmark because it did not disappoint. Our young guide knew her background material, shared it enthusiastically, and enjoyed playing the famous recordings of the past for us in the tour group.

THE MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

Our next stop that day was The Bar-b-q Shop for sandwiches and ribs.

We had such a fun day. Maybe my cousins will share their pictures, and I'll be able to post another quartet -  we four cousins standing in the very spot where Elvis recorded and with the microphone he used.

An Amazing Day

Yes, that's the way I would describe November 2, 1978, for that's the day I experienced the birth of my first child, a son.

His smile continues to make me happy.

Happy Birthday, Ryan! Thank you for introducing me to motherhood and giving me such beautiful memories.
