In the Mood for Fall

Fall decor is starting to appear at my house. So far it has all come out of storage. I have looked at fall decorations in the stores but haven't seen anything that was  extra special. Maybe next time my eye will spot the perfect addition.

 

My Friend

 Margaret Ruth Beeson Ehrentraut

We met in junior high.

We experienced the highs and lows of high school.

We followed our dreams.

Marg became an airline stewardess.

I became a schoolteacher.

Marriage and children brought happiness.

 Unfortunately we both endured the heartbreak of divorce.

But we survived and kept in touch through the years.

 

In her later years she chose a different spelling for her name.

Margeaux

It seemed to fit her dynamic personality, but to me she was forever Marg.

Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies.

I'm thankful for all the love and memories we shared.

We hope to meet again.

Series of Birthdays

September is loaded down with birthdays. Corkey had his on September 1st. It was definitely memorable and certainly scary. Thankfully the Labor Day crisis ended well. His blood pressure stabilized, and heart tests showed no attack or damage.  Severe bee stings contributed to the start of the whole problem that played out before an audience of family and friends.   

 

I snapped this photo while he was resting and waiting for the doctor to come by and release him.

The next important birthday was Lauren's on the 9th. My admiration for my daughter grows and grows. She has handled the past two years with amazing courage. Taking care of two little ones after the sudden death of her husband Justin has been extremely hard, but she has shown tremendous strength.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Corkey and Lauren.

The third birthday in this series belongs to a sweet little granddaughter who turned 2 0n the 11th. After their school day Corkey and I joined Lauren and the girls for cake and ice cream. 

The sundress that Etta wore to celebrate her birthday was once Lauren's.

How special to see Etta in that dress!
