Ending on a Happy Note

June arrived and left in a hurry. Wow, 2025 is on a fast schedule!

Being around little ones is a joyful occasion. They are on the go, and it's hard to get a photo. Getting one of them together can be a challenge.

Most of the time they are willing to share.

Tallulah and Etta enjoyed Evie's company. She patiently showed them some finger placements on the piano.

Today is the 36th anniversary for Corkey and me. Although our courthouse marriage was on June 8th, we had a church wedding ceremony with the kids at the altar alongside us on June 30th.

Boy, have we changed!

But we are blessed to have each other.

We pray for more time.

Saturday Summary

I have been busy, but not accomplishing a whole lot. Lauren and the girls are coming out tomorrow so I thought I better do a little bit of cleaning.

Took some interior photos to post in my House album. Interesting to compare  several years ago to now. I removed many books from this bookcase but still need to part with more.

I added more farm country scenes to this guest bedroom wall.

This guest bedroom houses much memorabilia. Inside the dresser drawers and under the bed are lots of stuff that I need to reduce.

Journals and photos are among my dearest possessions.
The pages of Mary's journal gift are filled out and describe books that have influenced my life.

These three journals are quite different but very, very special.
They are filled with thoughts, clippings, photos, art, and all sorts of odds and ends.

The little bear was once Ryan's. The Friend bear was a gift from my friend Carla. Tallulah and Etta play with them when they come.

Our master bedroom

This Hope chest at the foot of the bed belonged to Corkey's Aunt Geneva and is full of his memorabilia...photographs, yearbooks, newspaper keepsakes, etc.

I rarely sit in the fragile rocker that was my grandmother's. However, I do enjoy my recliner and never tire of looking at the moving picture frame with family photos.

A friend came by this afternoon with homemade pimento cheese. Some folks do the nicest things.

Since the little girls are coming I baked some cookies to fill this tin.

And a final note to this Saturday would be a very special and emotional phone call from Marg. We fought back tears and expressed our feelings for one another. We knew that this might be our last time to talk. Tears came anyway.

Thanks for coming by
and
reading my ramblings.

What's On My Mind

It has been a very long time since a comment has been posted. I miss the connections I once enjoyed with other bloggers. I guess persons have moved on to other things. Sentimental me still likes written messages.

One of my dearest friends is very sick with cancer. Since our years in high school we have stayed in touch. I am in prayer for her every day. Just today she sent a video to friends expressing how much our thoughts and prayers meant to her. She is resting at her daughter's home, aware that her earthly time may be short.

I decided to paint another angel. This one is saying "Come. I'll guide you home."

The news about the US strikes on three Iran nuclear sites is certainly on people's minds tonight. The big question is whether this action will bring peace or create terrible consequences. Praying for America and Israel and our world.

Summer heat is upon us. Hopefully bodies will stay cool as well as minds.

No Catchy Title

Without a doubt these two are the gold of my golden years.

Children are precious, and they grow and change so fast.

I've been moving a few things around in the house. Put some old books in a cloche.
Trying to use what I have to create some changes.

This figure is new to my collection of readers. I found him several weeks ago in my only antiquing/thrifting outing. There's no more room on top of the bookcase so this collection is coming to an end. (Maybe?)

Also this blog post is coming to an end because I need to prepare for bed. Of course, by the time I wash my face, brush my teeth, and write in my journal I won't be as sleepy as I am right now.

Goodnight and sweet dreams!

Just a Few Notes

I have been reading through some old journals of mine and am amazed at the details those writings saved. There's no doubt that even an ordinary life is full of moments too wonderful to forget.

Gardening brings me pleasure even though I know so little about it. These day lilies show off in June.

Real flowers can't be beat, but painted ones are kinda nice, too.

Do you recognize this establishment? Corkey and I love to come here for the breakfast foods and for a lovely friend that takes care of our order. The Millington IHOP is lucky to have Jamie as an employee.

Well, these are my notes for now. I wanted to hop on this blog to say "Hi" and welcome the new month of June.
