Better Luck Next Time

Some projects look so simple but end up a mess in my hands. I manage to get glue in all the wrong places. One paper wrinkles, another one tears.  Yet in spite of the flaws, I have a soft spot for this failed project, thinking better luck next time.

Anna Corba explains in her book how to do some wonderful projects. She
has beautiful results with her collage bottle art and creates exquisite tags.

I'm still rearranging objects
in the studio.

Hope your week is full of
love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, generosity,
faithfulness, gentleness, and
self-control. These nine fruits
of the Spirit were in our
Youth Sunday School lesson.
Oh, if only we could practice
and manage these every day...

Ah, nature...

What a surprise right outside the bathroom window! The photo was taken from the inside so the picture is not crystal clear.  The mother robin chose a very secure corner spot for nesting. Protected from wind and rain the nest is safe and dry. Sometimes I peek out the corner of the window shade and see her sitting on those gorgeous blue eggs.

I'm reminded of the quote by William Blake that I've always liked.

The bird a nest,
the spider a web,
the human friendship.

Thanks for visiting.
In friendship,
Sandy

A Favorite Spot

Even if the creative juices are not flowing, I still like to come here and sit.
It soothes me to be surrounded by things that I love...rubber stamps, art books, decorative objects, and my attempts at art.

I keep moving supplies around in an effort to find the best arrangement.

You may remember this memo board from my February 23, 2011, treasure hunting entry. I have been checking on it periodically at the antique mall. Since it wasn't an antique and not even a window frame like I first thought, I thought it was priced way too high. At the end of March 2012 I gave in and considered buying due to a 20% off sale.  As I was looking at it, the booth owner kindly knocked off a few more dollars. Now that it's in my "studio" space, I prefer it without memos. Bare it reminds me of a cathedral window.

Now to muster up a bit of courage and create on that blank canvas.

The return of the flowers

There's nothing quite like blooms in your own garden. I am getting excited because the hollyhocks are getting taller. One fine morning soon there should be beautiful blossoms in different colors.

I wanted to try some new plants this growing season, but I'll have to be content with the already established ones. Hope your garden is thriving and giving you reasons to smile.

Return

I came back and discovered changes to Blogger. I'm not very confident as I type this post. This senior is having a hard time keeping up with the fast changes in today's world. Recently my daughter introduced me to Pinterest. Now I'm addicted to looking and pinning.

I think I am addicted to blogging, too. Missed being here. Found myself wanting to share gardening blooms, shopping finds, booth business, and other bits and pieces of daily living.

Soooo...I'm back, and I hope you will join me.
